OneNote needs a format painter
I do a lot of text entry in OneNote, with the text often pulled in
from another document (Copy-Paste). This results in a nice hyperlink
that shows where the copied material came from. But the hyperlink is
in a different typeface and size (i.e., Tahoma 8 pt) and my working
default--the text entry itself--is Times Roman 11 pt.

When I start my next line after the hyperlink, OneNote assumes I want
the same typeface, size, and font density as in the hyperlink,
whereas, of course, I want to return to my default working font.
Having a smaller, greyer typeface for the hyperlink is fine, since it
helps differentiate the link from the text above it. But I want to
return to my original default font.

Changing things back to my original typeface requires several
keystrokes. Am I missing a way to avoid this? Or, even better, does
OneNote have hidden somewhere a Format Painter command like the one in
Word? And, if it doesn't, may I please request that a Format Painter
command be added to the next version?

Unfortunately not {siiiigh}.
I'm seriously missing that as I'm used to that from the good old AmiPro
(which had the Format-brush looooong before Word).
