Hi Robert

Those folders hold the uninstall files for the Windows Updates. If you are
*certain* that you won't need to uninstall any of those Updates, then those
folders can be deleted.

How do you uninstall them instead of just deleting it?

You don't want to uninstall them. Those keep your PC secure and update to
date. If you uninstall them I can *guarantee* your PC will not run good
even for a day.

Chris,

While I agree with you that caution is in order.
I have an older copy of windows xp, it has no sp1 no hot fixes.
I periodically load it and run it. It waas one of the first xp cds
out.
When I use it I have no problems and often run over a week with up.
I strongly disagree with your statement "I can *guarantee* your PC
will not run good even for a day.."

I think it will run fine; but there may be more potential for
problems.

Re: $NtUninstallKBXXXXXX$ Directories under windows directory
If the PC has internet access (And assuming it does since the OP posted
here) then without the hoxfixes installed that opens the user up to Blaster,
Sasser, etc. I'm taking a wild guess and using the OP isn't running a
firewall either. So uninstalling the patch's when cause definite problems.
