How to Import Saved Emails from another unconnected PC
I have a similar problem to KROKUS12 on 8th May. Can
anyone help?
I have Outlook Express v6 on 2 separate standalone PCs,
the first under Windows 98 and the second running XP Home.
I wish to transfer all my saved emails from the old PC
to the new one, but I can't seem to get File > Export >
Messages on the Win 98 PC to do any thing - it says it
will export to MS Outlook or MS Exchange but it does
nothing.
I have copied all the .dbx file (found in
Windows\Application Data\Identities\...\Microsoft\Outlook
Express) to a CD, but File > Import > Messages .. from MS
OE 6 .. from an OE6 store directory .. specifying the
Outlook Express D: drive where the .dbx files are ..
gives me the message "No messages can be found in this
folder or another application is running that has the
required files open. Please select another folder or try
closing applications that may have files open".
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
Charles.

Move the files to an empty folder on the hard drive.
Remove the Read Only attribute.
Now import.

Success (after figuring out how to take the read-only
attribute off the folder). Many thanks.
