System error: Object name already exists
After apply all the critical security patches for Windows
2000, after system rebooted, a popup window saying this
error message. It will popup again and again on a
different time intervals. Does anyone have the same
experience? Or do you have a solution?

Thanks,

Andrew

I have had the same experience on two different machines, but do not
know how to solve this problem. On one machine we tried to undo one of
the updates, but that resulted in the system being completely
unusable.

Same problem here. Win 2000pro. Downloaded security patches and now
have this system error pop up and irregular times. Thanks windows for
allowing us to beta test your software. Would love to know if anyone
finds a solution that is available. kiefc@hotmail.com

Someone should notify Microsoft that this message is turkey.

It does not give enough information
- would be nice if they supplied the following information.
1) the object name in question.
2) the name of the program which caused this message to occur.

It is bad programming style to just say error -
and hope the user can figure this out.

The checkerbum with too much wine.
Peace be with you.

On my system, the critical patch was causing a double-instance of a
driver in the Device Manager. The driver was Jungo -> WinDriver. I
uninstalled one copy, and the problem went away.

This WORKS!

Uninstall the jungo driver that has a yellow exclamation marked by it. At
least thats the one I removed. Got rid of the error "Object name aready
exits". Thanks
