windows activate issues
I have two Dell Pc's. Inadvertantly I used the wrong reinstall of Windows XP
on the wrong PC. The install was successful, but now when I try to start my
computer I am in a loop of trying to activate the microsoft software. I
believe the problem is that the software I have loaded is already active on
my other pc under a different product code so it will not allow me to
register it. So it keeps logging me off and bringing me to the sign in
screen...help!! What do i do now?

Use the RIGHT reinstall disc to correct your "error".

Activation issues shouldn't cause the behavior you're reporting. Why not
just do a reinstall with the proper media?

How do I do that? I keep getting the message "This copy of Windows must be
activated with Microsoft before you can logon. Do you want to activate now?"
When I click "yes" It gets to the internet but then logs me off and takes me
back to the login screen. When I click "No" it logs me off and take me back
to the login screen.

What am I missing?

You don't have to login to do a reinstall with the proper media. Just
follow the installations instructions for the media you have.

Re: windows activate issues
Rename wpa.dbl and wpa.bak in the windows\system32 folder and do a
repair install.
