DOS Guest Web Browser
As a learning project I want to get a web browser working in a DOS
guest. I am thinking that DR DOS or DOS 7.1 would be good DOS
installations. And I have downloaded the Arachne web browser. But
Arachne requires a "packet driver" to work with a LAN. I haven't been
able to find a "packet driver" for the VPC NIC.

I would appreciate some advice on this project.

Thanks, jimbo

Re: DOS Guest Web Browser
Here is the rest of the story. By luck, not skill, I found a packet
driver for the DEC 21140 network adapter on a web site,
"www.crynwr.com/drivers". A file named, "dc21x4_11_4.zip" contained the
dc.com packet driver. I installed it on the VPC DOS 7.1 system as
"dc.com 0x60". It installed just as if there was a real DEC 21140
present. And Arachne connects to the Internet just fine. I can now
browse the web from an emulated DOS 7.1 system in VPC.

Awesome!
