IR Hardware Not Detected
I'm setting up my new MCE system, and during the MCE Wizard, I get to the
point where it's looking for the IR device. Here the wizard attempts to
communicate with the IR control cable coming off of the Microsoft remote
control and receiver. I get the message "IR Hardware Not Detected" eaver
time. I've tried different IR cables, I've tried different locations on the
front of my set-top box, I have even tried using different USB ports on my PC
- no luck.

The remote control that came with the unit works fine, it just seems to be
having trouble locating the IR device. When the wizard is testing the IR
cable, I actually see an LED flash once inside the end of the device (side
which is attached to the set-top box).

Any thoughts?

Did you ever find out the answer to your problem? I'm having the same issue.

Re: IR Hardware Not Detected
Someone yesterday mentioned that something had turned off their USB ports in
the BIOS, so check there and make sure they're all enabled. There may be an
option to support "legacy USB equipment" - you might try toggling that too.
