Since our Exchange 2000 server organization is responsible
in delivering mail to various SMTP addresses (different
domain names), we edited our Default Policy (Under
Recipient Policies) and added more SMTP addresses on our E-
mail Addresses (Policy) in addition to the 4 default
addresses (ccmail, ms, smtp, and x400).

The problem right now is that none of the new SMTP email
addresses are added to any newly created account/user. The
new account only has the 4 original email addresses
showing under the Email Addresse tab.

Any ideas? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

What happens if you right click on the default recipient policy, click
Apply this Policy Now, then use Exchange System Manager to drill down
to the Recipient Update Service for your domain, right click on it,
and choose Rebuild?

Nothing happens when you click Apply this policy now. I
have not done the rebuild yet but before I do it is there
anything else that I need to be aware before rebuilding,
i.e. do this off-hours or will it affect incoming/outgoing
emails or others?
Also, is it better to create another recipient policy than
editing the default policy?

Thanks for your input.
