When you browse to the new location for the EDB and STM
files and select apply the system will dismount the store
and move the files for you. Once the move has finished
the system will remount the stores.

You should back up before and after the move.

The system will not do a defragmentation.

If you move the log files the system will not purge the
log files before but will just move everything. A log
file move requires a dismount of all stores in the group.

Hope that clears things up.
